Serenity Prayer: On Steroids

​

I live inside both certainty and doubt,

That's the space where the life I love plays out.

Fear and excitement fuel my daily drive,

To act or not is risk's own way to thrive.

​

The line between the things that you can change,

And what you can't is always not so plain.

There is no clean divide, no perfect split,

Just odds and chances that you can have a hit.

​

So many things that you would want to change,

The odds for yes or no, they span a range.

Certainty comes only as history's voice,

So step ahead and boldly own your choice.

​

The juice of life is never found from escape,

From risk and chance and luck and fear and fate.

A life of possibilities and risk that give you all,

The rise, the joy, the fall, the loss, the great, you’ll be enthralled.

​

You'll act or not, and so that either way,

You’re embracing all the risks of yes or nay.

Win or lose, there’s praise or blame, all in the game,

Rejoicing, dancing, playing, for life you’ve claimed!
