Selfishness, for the most part, will be used in this site, alongside the terms SelfCare and SelfCaring, to denote "taking care of one's self-interests." Often I will just use the word self-interests.
As an operational word, "to be selfish" is to act consistently in service to one's own benefits and self- interests.
