“I Am Silliness”

“You are silliness,” wacky and bright,

goofy and gleeful—a joyful birthright.

Then seriositus crept in so slow,

That grown-up disease you needed to join the show.

They said, "Be serious, don't wiggle, don't shout!"

And quietly, sadly, you shut silliness out.

“I am silliness!”

Loud, I proclaim—

not borrowed, not taught,

not anybody's name!

“I'm goofy, I'm gleeful,

I'm wild, I am free,

the wackiest, silliest,

version of me!”

“I am silliness! I am silliness!”

Not a method, not learned—just buried-deep bliss!

Before shame ever told me that silly was small.

“I am silliness,” underneath it all!

Now playfulness plans,

It's crafty, it's keen.

But silliness needs,

No purpose, no scheme!

No outcome, no goal,

No clever-laid plan—

Just joy bouncing loose,

As wild as it can!

“We are silliness,”

Though most have forgot,

Even the wisest,

Still feel the knot.

We tucked it away,

Deep out of sight,

Even alone,

We hush ourselves tight.

We hired our own jailer,

Right there in our head,

Who silences giggles,

Leaving our wiggles unfed.

But the door isn't locked!

Just covered in dust.

Courage will open it—

Risk is a must.

Step by step,

Looking foolish, looking strange,

I'll honor myself,

For this beautiful change!

“I am silliness! I am silliness!”

Not a method, not learned—just buried-deep bliss!

Before shame ever told me that silly was small.

“I am silliness,” underneath it all!

You hear it. You feel it.

You find that it's true.

Then you give it to another,

who forgot what they knew.

From hearing, to owning,

to lighting their way—

three steps to bring silliness

back out to play!

“I am silliness! I am silliness!”

Goofy and gleeful, limitless!

Before the world ever taught me to hide,

“I am silliness!” always dancing inside!

I got it!
