“I Am Curiosity”
"You are curiosity," the voices were always there to say,
The world is trying to bury it, it’s slowly washing away.
Yet all the truth of who you are calls it clearly by its name,
When you forget you’re curiosity, it's always there to claim.
"I am curiosity," I say it loud, I say it true,
Every door I throw open, every morning something new.
No ceiling on the wondering, no finish line in sight,
The asking is the answer, and the question is the light.
"We are curiosity," though most have yet to know,
Still trapped inside the edicts of the long ago.
I hold it for the others who do not hold it yet,
The truth about them also, I'm the one that won't forget.
"I am curiosity, I am curiosity,"
Not taught, not a method, not a false identity.
Before the House of Good and Bad ever blamed its very name,
"I am curiosity," forever inside of wonder's flame.
You heard it from another, then you find it is renewed,
Then you give it to the others who forgot they knew.
Three roads into knowing, all leading to grace,
From hearing, to owning, to lighting every face.
"I am curiosity, I am curiosity,"
Not taught, not a method, not a false identity.
Before the House of Good and Bad ever blamed its very name,
"I am curiosity," forever inside of wonder's flame.
