Honoring Yourself

We chase approval, seek their praise,
Willing to bend in countless ways.
Ignoring whispers deep inside,
Just to keep the world satisfied.

We smile, we nod, we play along,
Hiding our truth to not seem wrong.
Yet in the silence, pain will grow,
A fading self we barely know.

But what if first we stood so tall,
Honored our heart, embraced it all?
If we were kind to our own mind,
A truer love we’d surely find.

For when we shine from deep within,
We offer more to foe and kin.
No mask, no chains, just light so free,
A love that flows effortlessly.

So dare to choose your soul’s own voice,
To love yourself, a fearless choice.
And as you stand in courage bright,
Your bonds with others gain new light.
